Time flies....

about those Farmgirls at heart........we missed our Oct. meetup and regrouped in November.......
It was nice to see everyone that made it to the meeting...and we sure missed those of you that weren't able to attend! We met at Evelyn Lopez's house! It was so much fun.....she has a totally girly home with all her vintage collectibles and handsewn vintage clothing! And that hand made Santa......what a work of art! Evelyn made home made pumpkin bread that tasted so sweet and good! Her Sister Sandra came over and brought her version of Pumpkin bread also, both very different but equally as tasty! It was fun to share the morning with two sisters and their mom...it made me miss my sisters and mom! and of course Brenda also, she was so much fun, she took me on a tour of her garden and she gave me a fresh egg from her hen house! It truly was a great morning spending time with everyone! We made Friendship tea it was a perfect treat to go along with the homemade pumpkin bread! Here's the recipe for those of you that missed it:

Friendship Tea

2 cups tang or orange flavored drink mix
1 cup lemon flavored drink mix
1/4 cup instant tea
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 package of cinnamon red hots
mix all together and package up to give as gifts........use fancy glass containers or little sealable baggies with handmade toppers to personalize! We made individual cup size and then a four cup size for gift giving!

Mix 3 tsp. in a cup of hot water, stir and enjoy!

we used to make this on the farm in the winter months when it was cold outside! We'd come in from having cold hands and feet and this would warm us right up as we drank this and sat on the hearth next to the fire! It smells wonderful and tastes good also! We called it "Russian Tea" but the recipe changed over the years a bit and we added the cinnamon candies....it makes a nice touch and we call it "Friendship Tea" because it's perfect to share with a friend!

A look back at the Europe vacation: (this blog needs to be read from the bottom up in order to make sense of it)........

so many colors and things to look at.....I brought home fresh milled lavender soap and lavender buds...

When I arrived in Malaga, I checked my email and had an email from Terri Pinder offering me a position with her at the Nursery! I was so excited I could hardly wait to get home! I guess I don't have to tell you that I came home and gave my notice, traded travel presentations for garden parties...........

Onto Malaga after that where we stayed 4 days and toured at our leisure around Spain........it was so much fun and so much to see!

After our day in France, we sailed to Spain.......spent a day in Barcelona at Montserrat and walked the streets of Barcelona. Had Tapas at a sidewalk cafe......enjoyed a glass of Sangria!

Look at the beautiful grapes from France.....................they were huge!

Lettuce leaves for all of you! Did anyone plant Lettuce gardens last month?

Spices in bulk at the flower market.........................in Nice, France.

My goodness, where does it go? Last time I wrote on here was when we were trying to figure out where the best place to put our Caladium in the ground on the Autumnal Equinox! Here it is the weekend after Thanksgiving already!

So much has happened in the that time frame for me... I went to Europe for two weeks with friends and family! It was so much fun! We Flew into Rome, Italy....shall I say anymore! There's some History there folks! We spent 4 days there and there's so much more to see and do than we packed in those four days! We saw the Coliseum, and Guy had his passport pickpocketed so we had to go to the US Embassy and get another one! We also made it to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and so much more........WE took the train to Livorno(Florence) Italy where we caught up with the Cruise ship and the rest of the family and sailed off to France. We enjoyed a day in Nice and Monaco. Amazing Day here. We went to the Flower market there in Nice where I got all these great photos..there's so many more, but I didn't want to overwhelm you with all of them.
